Porsche Panamera

Porsche Panamera

Based on the sources of social sites and mass media, the production and logistics systems intelligence Porsche Panamera ensure a competitive advantage in a highly efficient and innovative auto mobile industry. It will enable the company to continue to make high quality individual vehicles right on schedule. The new concept is used at the factory in Leipzig German car maker, which already has a modern production.
The project is using a full planning procedure that combines all the providers. As a result of the efficiency program, the parts for Porsche Panamera and others like cayenne is to reach a production site just an hour before they enter the production line. These eliminate the need for storage areas, and therefore reduce the cost of production.

Firstly, the company of Porsche Panamera uses the standardized processes to prevent order-picking errors, At the supply centre, employees pick parts using a standardized logistics process that is synchronized with the assembly to prevent some errors. The company also hourly material deliveries to the plant in Leipzig for Shuttle trucks take materials from the transit point to the supply centre in precisely defined windows of time. Their trailer loads are planned in advance on the basis of predetermined route assignments. The trailer exchange principle enables the full containers to be unloaded directly and the empty containers to be brought back at the same time, with the trucks leaving the plant only a few minutes later. The plant of Porsche make the production without warehose that a sophisticated production and logistics system means that Porsche doesn’t need warehouses to produce Panameras and Cayennes at its plant in Leipzig. Only those parts that are needed right away in the production process enter the factory—and at precisely the right time and place. Every part needed has its set place on the ergonomically optimize order-picking truck provided to the assembly worker “just in time”. Optimally prepared processes and task assignment based on the “surgeon-nurse” principle prevent errors and increase productivity on the assembly line. Freight trains from the Volkswagon plant in Hannover arrive daily at Porsche’s factory rail station in Leipzig, carrying Panamera bodies with finished paint jobs. They are unloaded by a fully automated system and sent directly to production. Punctual arrival of these rail transports is monitored electronically at all times by a GPS positioning system.

Toyota(just in time)
The few of people are not aware of the advantages and how to manufacture and service the cars Toyota factory, they only know Toyota is the best-selling products in markets around the world and have good service than other cars. For the history, the founder of Toyota car is Sakichi Toyota at 1935.  First, we want to tell that the car Toyota interest worldwide because one of them they offer a service called (jit) just in time. The Toyota have supply to order and not have warehouse in other words, a Toyota lot depends on the demand. The Toyota have good quality than with other car also can fulfil customers demands.Besides that, the Toyota have the top ranking in Asia cars.

Sakichi Toyoda

Just in time (JIT) is a production strategy that strives to improve a business return on investment by reducing in-process inventory and associated carrying costs. To meet JIT objectives, the process relies on signals or Kanban ( system to control the logistical chain from a production point of view, and is not an inventory control system) between different points, which are involved in the process, which tell production when to make the next part. Kanban are usually 'tickets' but can be simple visual signals, such as the presence or absence of a part on a shelf. Implemented correctly, JIT focuses on continuous improvement and can improve a manufacturing organization's return on investment, quality, and efficiency. To achieve continuous improvement key areas of focus could be flow, employee involvement and quality.

Besides that, the installation of a Toyota car that emphasizes the characteristics of high security and quality As stated by the Japanese phrase "heijunka" hard work balanced with a simple job to not cause any burden on people and the main machine. principle to achieve perfect quality in a Toyota for example in Turkey is "Building in Quality" in the same manner with all the Toyota plant globally. The most important component to strengthen the "Building in Quality" is the performance of static and dynamic tests on parts and complete vehicles. The test is made in the process, a special test road and laboratory evaluation of engineering. The vehicles are properly screened by Toyota's Quality Assurance System is reinforced with ownership of Toyota Motor Manufacturing Turkey, delivered to the port and dealers to customers in Turkey and in Europe. "Always Better Cars" said by Mr. Toyoda, President TMC.
The main benefits of JIT in manufacturing Toyota first is to reduce set-up time . Cutting preparation time allows the company to reduce or eliminate inventory for " change " over time using the SMED (exchange minute - single die ) . Well as the flow of goods from warehouse to shelves improves. The size of a small piece of the lot or delay many individuals to reduce inventory , which facilitates the flow of inventory and management. Workers with various skills used more efficiently . Employees are trained to work in different parts of the process that allows companies to move workers where they are needed . Production scheduling and work hour consistency synchronized with demand . If there is no demand for the product at the time, it was not made . This saves the company money , either by not having to pay workers overtime or by having them focus on other work or participate in training . The emphasis on supplier relationships . A company without inventory does not want to supply system problem that creates a lack of parts. This makes a very important supplier relationships . Supplies come in at regular intervals throughout the production day . Supply is synchronized with production demand and the optimal amount of inventory is on hand at any time . When parts move directly from the truck to the rally point , the need for storage facilities is reduced .They also reduce the storage space required. Lastly is a smaller chance of breaking or expired inventory .

Transportation of logistic

Transportation

The transportation is the movement of materials and products. Logistics involves the movement and transport of materials and products, as well as their storage and packaging. This includes shipment of raw materials to the manufacturer and movement of finished product to the customer. Transportation also includes the movement of parts to assembly areas as they are assembled. Modes of transport include air, rail, road, water, cable, pipeline and space. The field can be divided into infrastructure, vehicles and operations. Transport is important because it enables trade between people, which is essential for the development of civilizations.

First, about air transportation has been the single most significant development in logistics century of this century.example such as MAS Cargo,Air Asia and so on that have come in a wide variety of designs.what we call air cargo is carried in a few ways, not always by air such as firstly is plane belly space that the space in the belly of a passenger plane, normally used for luggage compartments.Cargo is not accompanied by the sender, more handlers, different and more documentation.secondly is flexibility of plane are basically passenger plane, but the interior can be adjusted to include more or less space for cargo and also passengers.Thirdly is freighter plane used just for cargo.Often a passenger plane toward the end of its useful life is converted into a freighter.Freighter also plane built just for that purpose normally would not include windows, since there is no need for windows along the body of the plane.Lastly is truck that many people do not realize is that a lot of air cargo actually is goes by truck.Major airlines has been replacing their larger plane with smaller planes for shorter flights. This reduces cargo space available, and thus means air cargo companies need to find a quick alternative.

Besides that, plane also have advantages to the exporter that make air transportation have different with other transportation. For advantages is the movement of the goods is very fast than other transportation.plane also can make warehousing cost are reduced to the minimum. It also suitable for the transportation of the perishable goods. The risks associated with with deterioration and obsolescence of the goods are reduced. The insurance premium in the case of air transport is lower as compared to the sea transport in view of the level of risk. The losses due to rough handling, breakage and pilferage are also reduced to the minimum. Example for air transportation:

Seconds, about water transport is movement by means of a water craft . Such as shipping companies is Maersk Sealand(Denmark), Evergreen(Taiwan), Hanjin(Korea),K Line(Japan), and Yangming(Taiwan). Besides that, type of ships is containerized, bulk carrier, bulk tankers, bulk roll-on, refrigerated ships and barges. For advantages of  water transportation is will be reduce cost and can carry many container.  Faster and more reliable delivery greater protection of fragile and easily contaminated cargoes, ensures original quality of goods reduces theft, enables physical separation of dirty cargoes, simplification of documentary procedures, and reduction in the cost of cargo handling and the time ships are in port.
The disadvantages is movement very slow. Have delay delivery and will be damages for non-  durable goods. Example for water transportation :

Third is about road transportation. Road is movement on the ground to deliver goods and suitable to be shipped to retailers or wholesalers. A road is an identifiable route, way or path between two or more places. Road transportation is the most available and accessible of the modes because motor vehicles are not restricted by terminal to terminal operation but can provide service from the shipper’s loading point to the receiver’s dock. Road transport is used mostly for short hauls of high value manufactured goods, because road transport have higher operating costs and less capacity than trains. Every transportation mode is influenced by regulations. Road transport is more influenced by local rules, such as speed limits, registration and so on. Other modes such as shipping do not use local roads are not so concerned about local rules. This means that the longer trip, the more legal jurisdictions it passes through. This creates a strong disincentive for long distance  for road transportation. Advantages of using road transportation is provides door to door service. Truck moves on metalled roads, construction of which is cheap, easy, and quick. Example for roadways transportation :

At last is for conclusion that we know the three mode of transport have advantages and disadvantages in terms of lower cost and price stability, in terms of intensive care goods and not damage the items when going through the process of shipping logistics. in addition, in the short term as well be an important aspect for achieving customer demand

What is Purchasing and Supply Management?

I could find you a definition from a dictionary, a
text book or a theorist, or I could describe what
good purchasing and supply management
practitioners really do. Procurement practitioners
shape the profession through their skills,
knowledge and attitude, and these are the principal
factors for successful businesses. After all, money,
land and buildings don’t have feelings, or contacts
or networks or know-how or-rights people do and
those facts have consequences on how
organisations operate.
In a recent article in The McKinney Quarterly, “The
Talent Factoring Purchasing”, they detailed the
results of a survey of purchasing professionals in
over 200 organisations investigated what talent
looked like in the profession. They found that “top
performing organisations hire better people in
sourcing, set clearer performance aspirations and
create strong sourcing cultures to encourage
purchasers to align their activities with corporate
strategy”. These strong foundations are often
overlooked by a drive to be different, to stand out
from the crowd and to be one step ahead of the
game, instead of building on accepted practice and doing what we do best. The high performing

procurement organisations in this survey realize
that managing people, talent and knowledge was
where it all starts, and policies and processes
naturally follow.
HSBC adopted a buyer development programmer to
second purchasing professionals to other
procurement teams world-wide. They found that
“The fundamentals of buying are the same in any
language – it is the intangibles you learn.” This
knowledge sharing programmer aims to increase the
professionalism of buyers and purchasing
departments world-wide; the key to the success of

the project – people.
